Terms & Conditions of Service

Welcome to eDeutsch Language Academy ("we," "our," or "us"). By registering for our courses or using our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
General Information
1.1. eDeutsch Language Academy offers online German language courses through live virtual sessions and additional learning resources.
1.2. By signing up for a course, you agree to follow all guidelines, policies, and rules outlined in these Terms of Service and any official communications.
Registration and Enrollment
2.1. You must register for courses via the official eDeutsch Language Academy website or authorized platforms.
2.2. If there are sufficient available slots for the requested new course start date the course participant can request to change their registered course. The course rate may be different and will be determined on a case-to-case basis.
2.3. If there is insufficient sign-up for a course, we retain the right to postpone or cancel the course. In such cases, participants will be notified of the new schedule. If the student does not agree with the new schedule, they will be entitled to a full refund.
Payment Policy
3.1. Full or installment payment is required at the time of enrollment unless otherwise specified.
3.2. Any applicable taxes or fees are your responsibility and will be clearly stated during the payment process.
3.3. If installment payment is agreed between the parties, unless otherwise agreed in writing the default payment schedule is as follows:First installment payment due two weeks before the course starting date.Second installment payment due at the course starting date.Third installment payment due four weeks after the course starting date.
3.4. Should any of the installment payments not be made within 5 days after the payment due date, the administrator has the right to refuse the participant access to the Zoom course sessions.
3.5. The enrollee acknowledges and agrees that upon cancellation or non-continuation, they remain liable for the full payment of the course. This includes any outstanding installments that have not yet been paid, which must still be paid in full as per the agreed payment schedule.
3.6. We reserve the right to drop a student from the course if payment is insufficient or not made according to the payment schedule.
3.7. If the enrollee fails to fulfill the payment obligations after receiving two formal follow-up notifications from the administration to remind them of the outstanding balance, we reserve the right to take legal action to recover the outstanding balance. This may include, but is not limited to, initiating legal proceedings or engaging a collections agency.
Course Access and Participation
4.1. Course materials and live session access are for the enrolled participant only and cannot be shared with others.
4.2. You need a stable internet connection and compatible devices to participate in live sessions.
4.3. Turning on the video camera during lessons is required to ensure an interactive learning experience.
4.4. We may adjust course schedules, content, or instructors when necessary and will notify you in advance of significant changes.
Attendance Policy
5.1. Regular attendance is expected to ensure successful course completion and progress.
5.2. If you are unable to attend a live session, notify your instructor in advance.
5.3. Live sessions will not be recorded. This decision is made to respect the data privacy of all participants and protect the intellectual property of course materials. However, missed sessions can be reviewed through the course materials. Kindly coordinate with your instructor to access these resources.
5.4. We will not be liable for excessive absences. Please refer to the Refund Policy for guidelines and potential refund eligibility.
5.5. In cases of emergency, attendance-related accommodations may be considered upon request.
5.6 A certificate of attendance will be issued to each enrolled student at the completion of the registered course if the attendance to the course has been 70% or higher.
Refund Policy
6.1. Refunds are available only for cancellations made at least 48 hours before the course starts.
6.2. To request a refund, email us at info@edla.ph with proof of payment and course details.
6.3. Approved refunds will be processed within 7-10 business days.
6.4. Refunds will not be granted for cancellations made less than 48 hours before the course starts or for non-attendance.
6.5. In exceptional cases, we may review refund requests on a case-by-case basis.
Code of Conduct
7.1. Treat instructors and peers with respect and professionalism during all interactions.
7.2. Disruptive behavior, harassment, or offensive language may result in removal from the course without a refund.
Course Learning Materials
8.1. Course participants are free to source their own learning materials. We only allow licensed books to be used in our courses.
8.2. Hardcopy books ordered through us can only be guaranteed to arrive on time if ordered no later than 7 business days before the course start date.
8.3. Hardcopy books will only be shipped once pre-payment has been completed and a valid, complete shipping address or local pickup station address has been provided. Failure to provide a correct shipping address within this timeframe may result in delays or non-delivery of course materials.
Data Privacy and Protection
9.1. In accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173), we are committed to safeguarding your personal information. By using our services, you consent to the collection, use, and processing of your personal data.
9.2. We collect personal information such as your name, contact details, payment information, and course preferences to provide and manage our online courses.
9.3. Your personal data will be used solely for course registration, communication, payment processing, and administrative purposes.
9.4. Under the Data Privacy Act, you have the right to access, correct, erase, or object to the use of your personal data. You may also request to limit or withdraw consent.
9.5. We will not share your data with third parties without your consent, except where necessary for service provision or as required by law.
9.6. We implement reasonable measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access or misuse.
9.7. Your personal data will be retained only as long as necessary for the purposes it was collected.

Intellectual Property
10.1. All course materials, including recordings, presentations, and written resources, are the property of eDeutsch Language Academy and protected by copyright laws.
10.2. You may not reproduce, distribute, or resell course materials without prior written permission.
Liability Disclaimer
11.1. We are not responsible for technical issues beyond our control, such as participant internet problems or hardware malfunctions.
11.2. Our courses provide educational guidance, but we do not guarantee specific outcomes, certifications, or proficiency levels.
Amendments and Updates
12.1. We may update these Terms of Service at any time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or posted on our website.
12.2. Continued use of our services means you accept the updated terms.
